About The Position

Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY (HOACNY), voted one of Central New York’s Best Places to Work, is looking for a full time HIM Specialist to join our professional team. HOACNY provides cancer care services, Monday through Friday, day hours at three convenient locations in East Syracuse, Camillus and Auburn. HIM Specialist position location is in East Syracuse. The HIM Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks that provide the most up to date information in our patient’s charts. This includes obtaining and sending records as well as updating contact and external providers in the electronic health record. This role offers variety and is fast paced.

Requirements

• Self-motivated individual
• Great computer skills
• Basic knowledge in medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain and send medical records
• Update patient contact information in the electronic health record
• Update external providers in the electronic health record
• Ensure patient charts have the most up to date information
