About The Position

Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine is a comprehensive inpatient behavioral health facility that provides acute behavioral health care and outpatient treatment to adults and geriatric adults experiencing severe symptoms related to behavioral health and/or substance use disorder. The center offers a continuum of care for patients with psychiatric, emotional, and addictive disorders and partners with National Health Corporation (NHC), Tennova Healthcare, and The University of Tennessee Medical Center. The HIM Coordinator will be part of this team, ensuring medical records compliance and managing health information services.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• CCA, CPC, or CCS certification required
• Strong communication, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s in Health Information Administration preferred
• 2+ years supervising a medical records department preferred
• 1+ year behavioral health experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide Health Information Management (HIM) services
• Ensure medical records meet federal, state, and facility guidelines
• Audit records for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
• Maintain strict confidentiality and data security
• ICD & CPT coding processes as needed
