Under direction of HIM Director, oversees coders and provides technical expertise of coding. Coordinates coding and mentors and trains new coding staff. Adheres to all duties of a certified coder. Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field or three years of related experience.
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC), required. Certification must be current.
Strong background of diagnoses/procedures in accordance with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding principles for Critical Access Hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, professional E&M levels, and Rural Health Clinic.
Proven track record of achieving and maintaining a 95% coding accuracy rate.
Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to control demeanor in challenging situations.
