Responsibilities include designing roadway geometry, drainage systems, and preparing construction plans, while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare designs for projects from concept development to final construction plans.
- Prepare exhibits and descriptions for easement and right-of-way agreements.
- Use computer applications such as MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads for design work.
- Design or prepare plans for new transportation systems or components.
- Support the project manager on conventional design for GDOT and other agencies.
- Stay updated with current methods and design guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, Environment, and Managerial procedures.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 3-6+ years' experience in transportation or civil engineering.
- EIT certification with a desire to obtain PE.
- Proficiency with CAD, particularly MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Familiarity with GDOT design standards and policies.
- OpenRoads Designer experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft products is a plus.
