Highway Technician 5/Construction & Maintenance - Cuyahoga County - East & West - PNs\: 20056054, 20057235 What You Will Do: During Construction Season\: Inspect construction projects as assigned. During Snow & Ice Season\: Work in the Maintenance garages, clearing snow and ice. You will be working in various locations throughout the district. Work alongside Engineers and assist lower-level Highway Technicians during construction season. Work as a lead worker when working in maintenance outside of the construction season. ALL ANSWERS TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS MUST BE SUPPORTED BY THE WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PROVIDED ON YOUR CIVIL SERVICE APPLICATION. All bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one-year probationary period. The selection process for this position will include a structured interview. Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored, and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract. This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards. If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the contract. The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis before appointment to test for illegal drug use. Medical marijuana is prohibited as a valid medical explanation for a positive drug test. Requirements
