About The Position

We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience working as Highway Safety Inspector in a busy Highways, Sustainable Transport and Parking environment with excellent technical and professional knowledge of the service area and experience of dealing with contractors, Elected Members, residents and our many other external stakeholders. As a Highway Safety Inspector, you will have an important front line task inspecting the highway at regular intervals in accordance with agreed time schedules and to subsequently arrange for the rectification of defects. You should be suitably experienced for this role with at least 12 months of experience of undertaking either highways or street works inspections. You will also ideally have knowledge of highway construction, maintenance or management and highway construction materials, techniques and specifications.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Highway Safety Inspector in a busy environment.
• Excellent technical and professional knowledge of highways, sustainable transport, and parking.
• Experience dealing with contractors, Elected Members, residents, and external stakeholders.
• At least 12 months of experience in highways or street works inspections.
• Valid driving licence and ability to use own car for the role.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of highway construction, maintenance, or management.
• Familiarity with highway construction materials, techniques, and specifications.
