About The Position

Langan is seeking a Highway / Roadway Engineer to join its collaborative team in Bethlehem, Doylestown, or Philadelphia, PA. This individual will serve a key function in the engineering design of highways, freeways and local roads for diversified transportation projects across the Northeast and across the country. In this role, under the direction of a Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to assist with the design and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering and infrastructure projects in a cross-disciplinary learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0-3 years of work-related experience
  • EIT certification, or ability to sit for FE exam in near future, preferred
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
  • Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Geometric designs of highways, freeways, and local roads using national and local codes
  • Concept layout and preliminary design of roads
  • Preparation of construction plans
  • Preparation of Traffic Signalization drawings and plans
  • Design of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements
  • Design of roadway drainage networks and preparation of stormwater management plans
  • Construction specifications review and estimating of costs and quantities
  • Preparation of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans (MPT)
  • Use engineering equipment and design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign, AutoTURN, etc.) to prepare engineering and design documents
  • Complete ADA inspections of constructed facilities
  • Perform other duties as requested
