About The Position

SEH is currenting searching for a Highway Regional Practice Center Leader to join our talented Transportation team! SEH is seeking a seasoned and visionary Regional Practice Center Leader to guide, grow, and advance our Highway Engineering, Traffic Engineering, and Construction Services practice across Arizona and Colorado. This leader will drive strategic direction, operational excellence, client satisfaction, and team development within the region. The role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge and a strong ability to shape high-performing engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Progressive engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with or for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, challenges, and opportunities in regional infrastructure and transportation sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and visionary leadership for the regional practice center.
  • Align practice center initiatives with SEH’s mission, goals, and long-term growth strategy.
  • Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers; foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with Arizona DOT, Colorado DOT and other critical Local and State agency partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Arizona and Colorado.
  • Partner with marketing and business development teams to expand the client base and regional footprint.
  • Manage budgeting, resource planning, forecasting, and financial reporting for the practice center.
  • Ensure the practice center meets financial targets and aligns with SEH performance expectations.
  • Implement operational best practices and ensure compliance with industry regulations and SEH policies.
  • Build and grow engineering teams in the southwest united states, focused on Arizona and Colorado, including talent development and succession planning.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities for staff.
