About The Position

The Highway Patrol Trooper (Cadet) position is designed for individuals seeking to become law enforcement officers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Cadets will undergo intensive training at the HP Academy, where they will learn essential skills and knowledge required for law enforcement duties. This full-time role requires residency at the academy during the training period, and upon graduation, cadets will be compensated at a rate of $31.19 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Must be between 20 to 39 years of age.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Complete a prescribed curriculum of intensive academy training.
• Reside at the academy Monday through Friday during training.
