Highway Maintenance Worker I -Small Equipment Operator (61032714)
About The Position
Performs Small Equipment Operator duties at Holly Hill Maintenance Unit. Operates standard dump truck. Performs duties using manual labor in such maintenance tasks as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/crossline pipe. Operates small tools and equipment such as chain saw in cutting trees on right-of-way and air compressors. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Assists with snow and ice removal during inclement weather events, as well as any other hazardous weather events. Repairs potholes and base surface failures of roadway using hand tools such as shovel, pick, rake and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as outlined in equipment specifications. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No minimum training or experience requirements
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license is required
- Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position
