About The Position

This position involves serving the public and working to enhance road safety in Ohio. Responsibilities include attending training for CDL licensure (if not already held), performing various highway maintenance activities such as flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repair, litter pickup, and mowing, as well as conducting snow and ice operations.

Requirements

• For Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary
• For Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
• For Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions
• For Highway Technician 1: Ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary
• For Highway Technician 1: 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment
• For Highway Technician 1: Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer
• Attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already a licensed CDL holder
• Perform highway maintenance activities; including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing
• Perform snow & ice operations
