About The Position

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. This role involves serving the public and working to make the roads in Ohio safer. Responsibilities include attending training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder, performing various highway maintenance activities such as flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing, and participating in snow and ice operations.

Requirements

• For Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary
• For Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Must obtain Class B Commercial Drivers License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
• For Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary
• For Highway Technician 1: 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment
• For Highway Technician 1: Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
