About The Position
The Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician II to operate a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment, including backhoes, tractors with attachments, crew cabs, and dump trucks. The technician will perform pre-trip inspections and minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment, as well as clean and wash the equipment. The role involves using hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools to maintain bridges and roadways, performing manual labor with minimal supervision, and assisting in the assembly and erection of highway signs. The technician will also be responsible for Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic).
