Responsibilities
- Perform routine transportation operations or maintenance support work such as roadway maintenance and repair.
- Operate light and heavy equipment for maintenance tasks.
- Conduct preventive and minor maintenance on equipment.
- Assist with traffic control and public safety during emergencies.
- Inspect and maintain highways, rights-of-way, and related infrastructure.
- Provide support to local law enforcement at accident sites.
- Maintain picnic and rest areas, including landscaping and litter removal.
- Complete required reports and documentation for maintenance activities.
- Assist in inspecting maintenance contract construction methods and workmanship.
Requirements
- No education required for GTT I; GTT II requires 1 year of experience in transportation engineering support or related work.
- Valid Driver License at the time of application.
- Commercial Class 'A' Driver License (CDL) with an N Endorsement required for GTT II.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of applicable inspection methods and safety standards.
