About The Position

As a Highway Maintenance Technician Coordinator, you will assist in selecting materials, supplies, equipment, inspecting, planning workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees. You will also maintain records of operation and prepare daily paperwork such as crew activity reports and daily vehicle check lists.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Class 'B' CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with air brakes is required at time of hire.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency.
  • One year of experience in infrastructure construction or maintenance is a substitute for a High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency.
  • An acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department’s Driver’s Record Requirements Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in selecting materials, supplies, equipment, inspecting, planning workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees.
  • Maintains records of operation.
  • Prepares and maintains daily paperwork such as crew activity reports and daily vehicle check lists.
  • Performs manual labor in the maintenance of highways, bridges and other highway facilities while utilizing a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
  • Operates vehicles and a variety of medium and heavy equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment operated.
  • Performs light maintenance and servicing work in connection with any type of equipment operated and assists in the repairs of this equipment.
  • Performs Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic).
  • Motivates crew members to improve the quality of work performed and assists in the evaluation of others.
  • Communicates on a regular basis with employees both individually and in crew meetings.
  • Trains crew members in basic Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic).
