Requirements

• One year of experience driving heavy trucks or operating construction equipment.
• Valid Montana Commercial Operators License (Class A, Type II) with no restrictions and a tank endorsement.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
• For Level II: One year of documented experience in road maintenance from another city, county, or state highway department.
• For Level III: Three or more years of documented experience in road maintenance from another city, county, or state highway department.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with road maintenance in a city, county, or state highway department.
• Ability to obtain a CDL within 30 days if currently holding a learner's permit.

Responsibilities

• Operate various trucks and heavy equipment for highway maintenance activities.
• Perform culvert placement and installation/cleaning.
• Conduct landslide removal and roadway repair.
• Engage in crack/mastic sealing, fence building, and bridge repair.
• Install guardrails and signs, and maintain luminaires.
• Manage vegetation and roadside maintenance, including pavement marking and striping operations.
• Execute snow and ice control measures.
