About The Position
The Highway Maintenance Operator I position within the Department of Transportation (DOT) involves performing physical labor and operating various self-propelled mobile equipment for the maintenance and repair of highway infrastructure. This role includes snow and ice control, maintenance of roadways, drainage systems, and signage, as well as preventive maintenance on equipment. The operator will work statewide and may direct the work of others on occasion.
