About The Position

Under general supervision, performs the receipt, storage, disbursement and recordkeeping of all parts, supplies, hand tools and signs in a warehouse by performing the following duties. All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.

Requirements

  • Skill in maintaining accurate records and files, in inventory control; and in using calculators or adding machines; and in personal computer.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, of inventory control; of departmental policies and procedures; of warehousing practices and techniques; of stock handling; of automotive parts and supplies; and of stock identification methods.
  • Ability to lift heavy supplies; to understand oral and written instruction; to make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy; to prepare reports; and to deal tactfully with others.
  • Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or general education degree (GED) and over three years full time paid employment in inventory control, warehousing, or related work experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Initiate requests for replenishing stock and for new stock.
  • Maintain card file on all inventory with minimum and maximum range.
  • Maintain back order file.
  • Verify invoice to requisition and delivery ticket.
  • Maintain perpetual inventory, take and record physical inventory; prepare reports and maintain necessary records.
  • Obtain quotes on items not on bid list.
  • Plan the receipt, storage and dispensation of supplies, parts, hand tools and signs.
  • Receive and stock supplies according to classification, to insure accessibility and proper handling of stock.
  • Rotate stock to reduce spoilage of perishable items.
  • Inspect incoming items to verify condition and quantity received.
  • Analyze stock to determine slow moving and nonmoving articles.
  • Maintain control of small motor and hand tools.
  • Maintain warehouse and equipment involved in warehouse operation.
  • Maintain security for warehouse.
  • May train other personnel as required.
