Requirements

• 0-3 years of experience preferred
• SCDOT project experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Minimal lifting, bending, and standing required
• Certifications preferred: o American Concrete Institute Field Technician – Grade 1 (ACI) o SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART) o SCDOT Portland Cement Concrete Field Technician o SCDOT Foundations Technician o SCDOT Earthwork, Drainage & Base Inspector o SCDHEC Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control Inspector

Responsibilities

• Responsible for necessary inspection services for earthwork and base, asphalt, foundations, concrete, structures, erosion, and other construction related items
• Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and client representatives
• Ensure that all new construction is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, special provisions, standard drawings, and approved materials lists
• Ensure that all construction projects are properly inspected
• Prepare daily inspection and contractor performance reports
• Perform field checks on all preliminary plans to assure completeness
• Ensure that design and construction is in accordance with the client’s concerns and permit requirements
• Monitor contractor’s schedule
• Compile closing packages
• Record as-built revisions and review with contractor
• Adheres to all safety guidelines required of the job
