As the Highway Discipline Leader, you will lead and mentor our energetic highway design team, manage complex transportation design projects, manage client relationships, grow your team, deliver creative and innovative solutions to clients, and support the firm’s business development efforts. You will be given the reins to oversee all aspects of the successful delivery of projects, including contract management, managing production teams, quality assurances, and financial performance. Your Role & Responsibilities: Autonomy & Leadership: With the support of your fellow employee owners, including company leadership, and direct access to a comprehensive learning and development program, you will lead the local highway design team while serving as a senior project manager on large, complex transportation projects. You will oversee and mentor multi-disciplined teams and ensure high-quality project outcomes. Team Management & Mentorship: Drawing on your leadership and project experience, you will manage a team of highway engineers as they deliver high-performing service and quality deliverables while supporting their continued growth and development. Client & Team Communication: You will maintain strong client relationships as the client relationship manager and point of contact throughout a project’s lifecycle. You will manage all client communications and satisfaction and coordinate with discipline key task leaders, staff, and subconsultants to ensure seamless project execution and collaboration. You’ll perform regular quality control checks on deliverables, developing, monitoring, and meeting schedules and budgets for projects. Business Development: You’ll leverage your connections and experience to identify project opportunities, lead the development of proposals, and select strong teaming partners to win work. You’ll engage in industry events with the team, promote your collective achievements, and network with prospective clients and other industry professionals. National Collaboration: With RS&H’s focus on flexibility and work sharing, you will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams on projects that directly impact Austin and surrounding areas to bring positive momentum to the vibrant growth and development in the state.
