The HCST Coordinator supports clients in building upon their strengths, overcoming barriers, and achieving long-term self-sufficiency through career-focused case management, employer partnerships, and wraparound support services. Additionally, this position promotes the Transition to Success (TTS) model and supports Forward Service Corporation’s mission through effective communication and exceptional client support.

Requirements

  • Associate degree with a minimum of two years of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating required skills
  • Experience in workforce development, training coordination, or career coaching
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to motivate individuals toward career success using a strength-based approach
  • Experience facilitating group trainings or career readiness sessions
  • Commitment to helping individuals achieve long-term self-sufficiency
  • Driver’s license needed due to travel requirements – will cover Madison and Rock County HCST classes

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the road construction industry or skilled trades preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manages participant services using a strength-based, holistic approach aligned with the Transition to Success (TTS) model.
  • Conducts targeted community outreach and recruitment to engage individuals interested in road construction careers.
  • Screens, interviews, enrolls participants, and verifies eligibility for the HCST program.
  • Assesses individual skills, barriers, and career goals to develop appropriate training and employment plans.
  • Coordinates or facilitates road construction–focused technical training, job readiness instruction, and professional development.
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with contractors, unions, training providers, and industry stakeholders to support job placement and career pathways.
  • Provides career coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support through training, job placement, retention, and advancement.
  • Connects participants to wraparound services and supportive resources to address employment barriers.
  • Maintains accurate, timely documentation and reporting while ensuring client confidentiality.
