From civil engineering, electrical, mechanical, and process engineering, Kleinfelder’s collaborative Design Services create synergy across multiple disciplines. Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is seeking a Highway Civil Engineer with experience in the design of highway and urban roadway projects to join as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in our Hunt Valley, MD office . The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on major transportation projects and will work closely with our other civil groups and markets. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual who is inspired to promote and support the growth of our roadway, highway and civil sectors for both our public and private clients, including municipalities throughout the state of Maryland. This position is a hybrid role and offered at our Hunt Valley, MD office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited engineering program.
  • 3-6 years of design experience in the highway transportation field.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and AutoTURN.
  • Experience with project delivery of State Agency Transportation Departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of employment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Highway/Roadway design projects that incorporate multimodal facilities, traffic, calming treatments, urban street roadway designs and modifications, accessibility improvements, transit network upgrades, drainage assessments and designs, public and private utility coordination, and green infrastructure elements.
  • Provide technical expertise on projects from initial conceptual and preliminary engineering through final design and construction.
  • Coordinate with architects, bridge, environmental, geotechnical, survey, and traffic professionals, to complete multi-disciplinary project deliverables.
  • Prepare detailed civil design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that production of specifications, reports and analysis meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
