About The Position

The High Volume Spay/Neuter Veterinary Technician at Texas Humane Heroes is responsible for providing exceptional care to animals undergoing spay/neuter surgeries. Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician Certification

  • Anesthesiology knowledge
  • Animal handling skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist Veterinarian in pre-, intra- and post-operative care of animals undergoing spay/neuter surgeries.
  • Prepare surgical packs, instruments and equipment for procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgeries.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment to prevent infection and ensure the safety of patients.
  • Provide post-operative care and monitor patients in the recovery area.
  • Assist with cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Support the clinic teams in various surgical areas, as needed.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed records.
  • Assist with other duties such as patient intake, discharge and client education.
