Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in transformer testing or ten years of transformer experience.
  • Hands-on experience with both low and high voltage testing methods.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NEMA).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and technical report writing.
  • Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate mobile high voltage test systems at customer sites.
  • Perform advanced electrical tests, including applied and induced voltage, partial discharge localization, and temperature rise.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot sources of partial discharge in transformers.
  • Analyze and interpret electrical test results to ensure optimal performance.
  • Calibrate and maintain specialized test equipment.
  • Communicate technical findings and solutions to customers and field crews.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering and service teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
