There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
The National Security Agency (NSA) is offering a High School Work Study (HSWS) Program designed specifically for high school juniors who are interested in gaining valuable work experience while still in school. This program is highly competitive and is open to students enrolled in various fields such as business, computer technology, engineering, graphic arts, manufacturing, construction, Chinese language, or humanities. The HSWS Program allows students to participate in a paid part-time internship during their senior year, providing them with hands-on experience in business and computer-related tasks. The internship runs from August to June, requiring students to work 4 hours per day, 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Students will receive a part-time salary, accrue paid leave, and have the potential for permanent employment upon successful completion of the program. To qualify for the HSWS Program, applicants must be at least 16 years old by December 31, 2024, and must be U.S. citizens. They must also have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and must have reliable transportation. Additionally, students are required to complete at least two relevant courses before the end of their junior year, such as business courses or technical computer courses. The program offers various positions, including Office Assistant, Computer Aide, Engineering Specialist, and Intelligence Analysis Aide, among others. However, applicants should note that they are not guaranteed placement in their preferred position, as the HSWS Program Manager will make the final decision based on the applicant's skills and qualifications. The pay for the HSWS Program is approximately $15.00 per hour, and students will earn annual and sick leave at a rate of one hour for every twenty hours worked. The application process requires students to apply online and submit several documents, including a student evaluation form, official transcripts, and a resume. The application window is open from September 1, 2024, to October 1, 2024, and late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The NSA is committed to diversity and equal opportunity in its hiring practices, and all applicants are subject to a security background investigation and polygraph testing.
