About The Position
Mt. Vernon High School (Fortville, Indiana) is accepting applications for the next leader of the Mt. Vernon High School football program.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of football, with the ability to develop the skills of athletes
- Previous coaching experience in a high school setting
- Ability to manage student-athletes
- Comprehension of the purpose of education-based athletics
- Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of training and conditioning techniques
- Self-direct and task-oriented
Responsibilities
- Establish the fundamental philosophy and skills required to be taught by the coaching staff.
- Recruits and trains qualified staff, evaluating assistants at the end of each season.
- Maintain discipline and a high level of expectations for staff and student-athletes both on and off the field.
- Establish and maintain good public relations with the media, booster club, and community.
- Other duties as assigned by the athletic director and/or principal.
