Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English or related discipline
• Previous experience teaching a variety of English courses at the high school level
• Proficiency with technology
• Experience designing content for and delivering a course through an LMS

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in related subject or education
• California Single Subject Teaching Credential
• Experience working with ELL and international students

Responsibilities

• Maintains a climate of trust and mutual respect which encourages students to risk the questions, the opinions and mistakes necessary to learn.
• Offers students clear educational objectives for each course supported by appropriate assignments, activities and evaluation.
• Accurately assesses each student's progress and inform the student, the parents, the academic mentor and the appropriate administrator immediately of any serious difficulty.
• Shows concern for and nurtures the student's intellectual, social, emotional, and ethical development.
• Works collaboratively with colleagues.
