About The Position

HeyTutor is seeking part-time High School Tutors to assist students in grades 6-12 during regular school hours. The role involves supervising students, helping them catch up on learning gaps, and creating an engaging learning environment. Tutors will work independently with groups of students, document progress, and facilitate assessments as needed. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education and looking for consistent tutoring hours.

Requirements

• Must have completed or are currently enrolled in a secondary education program and three years out of high school.
• Tutoring experience, especially with children.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us).
• COVID-19 Vaccination required.
• Comfortable with High School and/or Middle School Math, including Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Working with groups of students without the support of a teacher or school site staff.
• Preparing the area to start tutoring sessions.
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas in the school site.
• Taking attendance and running lessons through the HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Documenting student progress with the HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Facilitating students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments when requested by the manager.
• Leading a group of students in the tutoring session using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Creating an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for students.
• Supporting students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engaging and interacting with tutoring lessons alongside the students.
• Daily clocking in and out for shifts.
• Performing any other duties required by the Company, manager, or School Site.
