About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Rancho Dominguez, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Rancho Dominguez, CA Schedule: 25 hours, 4 sessions a week for 2 hours Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Experienced high school tutor comfortable supporting advanced math and science subjects, including Algebra 2, Geometry, and Chemistry. Strong background in secondary-level English with emphasis on reading comprehension strategies for PSAT/SAT preparation. Skilled in teaching cognitive learning strategies, memory retention techniques, and comprehension skills. Proficient in integrating tools such as Desmos, Gizmos, PowerPoint, and AI-based learning supports into instruction. Adaptable and able to transition smoothly between virtual and in-person instruction as needed. Patient, structured, and able to explain complex concepts clearly while building academic confidence. Requirements

  • Experienced high school tutor comfortable supporting advanced math and science subjects, including Algebra 2, Geometry, and Chemistry.
  • Strong background in secondary-level English with emphasis on reading comprehension strategies for PSAT/SAT preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted instruction in Algebra 2, Geometry, and Chemistry, reinforcing foundational concepts and problem-solving skills.
  • Support secondary-level English with a focus on reading comprehension strategies aligned to PSAT/SAT expectations.
  • Teach and reinforce cognitive strategies for memory retention, organization, and academic processing.
  • Utilize technology tools (Desmos, Gizmos, structured slide presentations, and AI-supported learning tools) to enhance understanding.
  • Break down complex concepts into structured, step-by-step instruction with guided practice and frequent checks for understanding.
  • Support homework completion and test preparation across subjects.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding progress and adjust strategies as needed to support academic growth.
