About The Position
KIPP New Jersey is looking for a motivated teacher with a track record of molding future leaders in our communities. We are looking for teachers in the following subject areas:- English Language Arts (ELA)- History- Math: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, or Calculus- Science: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics- College and Career Readiness- Enrichment: Physical Education, Music, Art, Theatre, etc.- Foreign Language: Spanish Here's what you'll be doing:Joining our schools as a teacher comes with a lot of growth opportunities, but with great power comes great responsibility. Your role as a teacher will involve a number of responsibilities which will include but are not limited to: Create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans in accordance with academic curriculum, working closely with the grade level teamUse data to responsively teach to mastery of academic skills Work closely with students, families and colleagues to create an environment that is supportive of student progressReinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniquesHelp with diagnostic and progress monitoring testing across the schoolMonitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure all students meet the learning objectivesUpdate student performance trackers and use data to help guide your lesson plansParticipate in school, departmental and parent meetings Participate in school events, activities and programs both during and outside of regular class instruction hours.

- Hold a valid teaching certification in NJ -or-Meet The GPA Requirement
- GPA RequirementIf you graduated after September 2016:Have a bachelor's or master's GPA on a conferred degree that is ≥ 3.0 -or- Have a bachelor's or master's GPA on a conferred degree that is between 2.75 and 3.0 AND demonstrate that you have passed all required Praxis exams with a +10% passing score (super scores)If you graduated before September 2016:Have a bachelor's or master's GPA on a conferred degree that is ≥ 2.75
Responsibilities
- Create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans in accordance with academic curriculum, working closely with the grade level team
