The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is looking for a hard-charging reporter to cover high school sports in our region. We want a reporter who is adept at news stories on tight deadlines but is also able to spot the big picture, trends and feature opportunities. The beat includes a wide coverage area, with the potential to tap into schools and games across our region of 2.8 million people. And while game coverage is certainly part of the job, we're looking for someone who can go beyond a routine game story. We want a reporter who can identify rising players and coaches and develop sources in the community. You'll collaborate on all-star lists, innovative preview and post-season coverage, and off-season enterprise stories. We want you to find interesting people and storylines that make up the fabric of our community. This is a chance to help shape a beat and chase stories that will engage large groups of readers. You'll also work across all of our digital platforms. The ability to navigate social media, embrace new technology and experiment with new story forms is a must.
