About The Position

Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders. Position Summary : Grapevine Faith Christian School is seeking a dynamic, student centered High School Science Teacher who is passionate about cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning in students through the study of science. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience teaching Biology and Chemistry and a commitment to creating an engaging classroom environment that challenges students academically while supporting their growth as authentic Christian leaders. For the upcoming fall semester, the primary teaching assignment will include Chemistry, with the opportunity to teach an additional upper level science course for seniors, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Environmental Science, or Forensic Science, based on the candidate’s experience and departmental needs. As we complete the final year of the intentional resequencing of our science course offerings, our long term vision is for this teacher to support instruction in both Biology and Chemistry, with periodic opportunities to teach upper level science electives for seniors. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong content knowledge, excellent classroom leadership, a collaborative spirit, and a clear alignment with the mission and values of Grapevine Faith Christian School.

Requirements

Must be a member in good standing of a Bible believing church and lead a mature Christian life.
Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
A Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Life Science, Environmental Science, or related field is required with at least 5-7 years of previous teaching experience
Must have experience teaching Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Life Science, and/or related disciplines.
Ability to conduct experiments and demonstrations to illustrate science concepts.
Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication.
Speaks with clear articulation.
Must be knowledgeable about the subject matter specific to the teaching position.
Excellent technology skills and willing to adapt to technology changes.
Evidence of personal commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

Assesses the learning of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
Sets time aside for scheduling parent/student conferences to promote learning skills of the child.

Utilizes educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth and seeks the counsel of the administrator, colleagues, and parent and is teachable.
Teaches classes as assigned and scheduled by the administrator.
Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work.
Prepares and submits weekly lesson plans for the administrator's review.
Shows support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child’s education and assists them in the task.
Attends and participates in scheduled devotional, committee, and weekly faculty meetings.
Follows the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, staff, and Board.
Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
Responsible for reinforcing a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to the constituency and general public.
