About The Position

The District math instructional coach must possess a strong foundation in mathematics and is proficient in coordinating and implementing the lesson designs, pacing guides, and curriculum for the math department at the secondary level. Possesses effective leadership skills and is able to motivate others to work as a team to obtain expected outcomes.

Requirements

Must hold or be eligible to receive a valid Arkansas Teaching License with Grade 7-12 Certification in Secondary Math with at least three exemplary years of teaching high school Math.

Responsibilities

Conduct Classroom Walkthroughs, monitor instructional practices, conduct departmental level training and professional development
Facilitate mathematics professional development at the school and district level
Research and implement best practice for improving instruction
Utilizes curriculum and pacing guides, adopted course of study and other materials in planning lesson plans and teaching outlines.
Participate in curriculum review and design and adoption of instructional materials
Implement a variety of instructional strategies to support district mathematics goals
Provide district wide leadership to ensure that mathematics standards are been implemented with fidelity.
Provide support for novice teachers as needed.
Abide by state statues, code of ethics , school board policies and regulations
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators and supervisors
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
