About The Position

Special Education Stoneham High School is seeking a licensed Special Education (Moderate Disabilities 5 -12) Teacher to join our Special Education Department for the 2024-2025 school year. Ideal candidates have experience providing Special Education instruction and services to adolescent-aged students within the secondary school setting. Ideal Candidates: Licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5-12 SEI Endorsement Classroom experience within the secondary setting Knowledge of and experience with completing and analyzing academic evaluation assessments (e.g., WIAT-4, GORT-5, etc.) Knowledge of special education law and policy Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills Responsibilities include: Creating a positive learning environment for students within the co-taught and Learning Strategies settings that align with Universally Designed Learning (UDL) standards. Collaborating with the Special Education Coordinator to support instruction and to ensure the delivery of services is in alignment with the student’s service delivery grid. Acting as Team Chair for Annual Review meetings for students on their caseload Writing, editing, and developing effective Individual Education Programs (IEPs) Co-teaching alongside a general education teacher within a core-4 content area Provide consultation to general education teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, and the needs of students Providing accommodations and modifications to students within the co-taught and Learning Strategies setting Differentiating research-based instruction and implementing specially designed instruction to meet the needs of all students Caseload management (e.g., parent communication, interdepartmental collaboration, etc.) Tracking and analyzing student data to identify progress and write progress reports

Requirements

  • Licensed in Moderate Disabilities 5-12
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Classroom experience within the secondary setting
  • Knowledge of and experience with completing and analyzing academic evaluation assessments (e.g., WIAT-4, GORT-5, etc.)
  • Knowledge of special education law and policy
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
