About The Position

The anticipated positions include Girls' Lacrosse: Assistant Coach for Varsity, Assistant Coach for Junior Varsity, and Head Coach for Modified, as well as Boys' Lacrosse: Assistant Coach for Junior Varsity. The coaches are generally responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and innovation in the sport, ensuring that each student-athlete derives maximum benefit from their participation. This role is performed in close cooperation with the Director of Athletics and the Building Principal. The primary goals include striving for victory in each contest and working toward the maximum potential of the varsity team. The Head Coach is encouraged to attend clinics, workshops, and courses to stay updated on new sport concepts, rules, techniques, and regulations. Additional responsibilities may be designated by the Athletic Director and/or building administration. All positions are subject to enrollment counts.

Requirements

• Fingerprint clearance from NYS Department of Education (NYSED).
• Current First Aid Certification.
• Current CPR/AED Certification.
• Current Concussion Training Certification.
• Physical Education Certification or Coaching Certification in the sport.

Nice To Haves

• Employment as a teacher in the Patchogue-Medford School District.
• Valid New York State Teaching Certification.
• Previous successful experience in a public-school setting.

Responsibilities
