About The Position

SCPS is seeking a Paraeducator to join the team at Riverbend High School.In this role, you will assist teachers as they instruct and monitor students in In School Suspension (ISS) classrooms. This role is critical to ensuring a productive learning environment for all students. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting
Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Basic First Aid and CPR certification

Responsibilities

Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments
Assists with evaluating and testing students
Works with small groups of students in various subject areas
Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
Monitors students whereabouts and observes student safety
Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, and basic troubleshooting
Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, parent pick up/curbside duty, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, office duty, and class coverage, as necessary.
