About The Position

The High School English Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging instruction in literature, composition, grammar, and language arts to students in grades 912. The teacher fosters critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing proficiency, and effective communication skills while promoting a love of language and literature.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with state and district curriculum standards.
Teach courses in English language, American and world literature, composition, and related subjects.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and academic growth.
Evaluate and assess student progress through assignments, essays, exams, and presentations.
Provide constructive feedback to help students improve writing and analytical skills.
Integrate technology and diverse instructional strategies to engage different learning styles.
Maintain accurate student records, grades, and attendance.
Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.
Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture.
