About The Position

The position is for a Certified Secondary Teacher at MacArthur High School, aimed at helping students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals. The teacher will be responsible for instructing and evaluating students, maintaining communication with parents, and participating in curriculum development and policy formation.

Requirements

• Illinois State certificate in the teaching field qualifying the teacher to teach at the secondary level.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Ability to function effectively as a member of the school staff.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in compliance with curricular requirements of the State and of the Board of Education of District 61.
• Remaining current on research, new developments, and literature on education.
• Compliance with Board Policies, Administrative Regulations, and Board-Employee Agreements.
• Participation in the curriculum development process at the building and district levels.
• Participation in the development of District Policies and Administrative Regulations.
• Instructional delivery using principles of learning.
• Stimulating students and bringing enthusiasm to the learning process.
• Developing goals/objectives for content/skills based on evaluation of student needs.
• Constructing and using diagnostic and achievement tests for evaluation.
• Controlling and structuring the learning environment.
• Utilizing available resource materials effectively.
