About The Position

Our Instructors work to change the world, one life at a time, by helping students reach their dreams through education. The Medina County Career Center (MCCC) is looking for a skilled English Instructor ready to share their expertise and knowledge with the next generation. Our teachers are responsible for the day-to-day management of the class, including the safety and welfare of students during on-site and off-site activities. They are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Teachers agree with and are committed to the academic goals and philosophy of the MCCC. They understand, abide by, and implement the policies, directives, and guidelines set forth by the MCCC.

Requirements

Valid Ohio teaching license – English
Effective written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to build rapport with high school students and many other stakeholders
Strong organizational skills
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
Ability to work cooperatively with a team
Valid Driver’s License
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Outlook

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree in the content area (English)
Experience working in a career-technical center
Personal knowledge of the Medina County Career Center
Strong technology skills
Proven ability to integrate technology into instructional methodology
Solid foundational knowledge of special education
