Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required by the start of employment.
  • Tennessee teaching certification in English (or eligibility to obtain licensure through reciprocity or an approved educator preparation/alternative licensure pathway).
  • Teachers must meet state certification requirements by the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Results. Design and execute rigorous lessons aligned to Tennessee State Standards and RePublic’s academic frameworks, ensuring scholars master complex literary and writing tasks.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning. Participate enthusiastically in weekly and schoolwide professional development, coaching cycles, and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Reflect and Refine. Use data consistently—from exit tickets to essays—to diagnose trends and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Bring Your A-Game. Set ambitious academic goals for scholars and yourself, and demonstrate the resilience and persistence required to meet them.
  • Master Your Content. Teach diverse, rigorous texts—from classic literature to contemporary works—while building scholar proficiency in analysis, writing, argumentation, and vocabulary.
  • Deliver with Impact. Facilitate dynamic whole-group and small-group instruction that deepens student thinking and encourages authentic discussion. Provide timely and meaningful feedback on scholar writing to promote growth.
  • Build Team Excellence. Contribute positively to school culture by offering support, sharing ideas, and engaging in open, solutions-oriented dialogue.
  • Set High Standards. Implement consistent classroom systems and routines that maintain strong learning environments aligned to RePublic’s values.
