High School Culinary and Pastry Intern
About The Position
Join the team at the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex, an award-winning property featuring Hersheypark amusement park, GIANT Center arena, Hersheypark Stadium, ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park, and Hershey Theatre. Thrilling roller coasters, action-packed Hershey Bears hockey games, thrilling live entertainment, and one-of-a-kind events are a day in the life of our team members. This opportunity is available for students participating in a High School Hospitality/ Culinary Program. This internship is located at the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex. This internship will be a minimum of 100 hours, with the ability to extend participation based on performance and operational needs. Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older
- Must be a junior or senior enrolled in the Dauphin County Technical School culinary program
- Basic knife skills and knife safety
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the internship
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Physical requirements include standing for majority of the shift, walking, sitting and lifting
- Must provide black uniform pants and non-slip footwear.
- Work areas are subject to seasonal temperature variations, including extreme heat, sun exposure, cold and other inclement weather conditions
- Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Adhere to company procedures, rules and regulations regarding food safety
- Maintain a clean work environment and demonstrate ability to prepare hot and cold foods
- Rotate through various food and beverage outlets, including; Catering, Premium Services, Overlook Food Court, Spring Creek Smokehouse, Cookies & Donuts, Milton's Ice Cream Parlor and other key areas across the complex.
