The Graduation Pathways Coordinator/Advisor (GPA) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the College & Career Readiness (CCR) and the Graduation Pathways arena. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to provide appropriate learning experiences that increase career awareness and student achievement for grades 6-12. The GPA will design and coordinate lessons and programming centered on the RFMS/RFHS resource period, work with the Counseling Department and Administration in developing locally created pathways, and educate counselors, students, and parents about colleges, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, financial aid/scholarships, and testing. The GPA will also provide vertical articulation for all CCR and CTE activities throughout the River Forest Community School Corporation, advise and support counselors, students, and families in the college research, application, and selection process, and serve as a liaison with college admissions offices and trade unions to develop and promote planning and internship opportunities.
