About The Position

Lewis Central Community School District is seeking a full-time, school-year High School Counselor Administrative Assistant for the 2026–27 school year. The position is expected to begin no later than July 27, 2026 , with a preferred start date in June 2026 to allow for training and preparation for student registration beginning in early August. Primarily responsible for providing clerical, enrollment, and records management support to ensure the efficient operation of school counseling and administrative services. This role involves working as a team member under the supervision of a building administrator and in collaboration with school counselors to support student registration, maintain accurate records, assist families, and serve as a point of contact between the school, district offices, and the public while maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Minimum of two years of related administrative experience and/or training; experience in a school, educational, or student-services environment preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or equivalent coursework from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
  • Enrolls students into the student information systems manually or processes the online pre-registration.
  • Collects legal documentation and works with Administrators & Counselors to maintain accurate data which affect the SIS.
  • Works closely with the district office, Special Education Coordinator, and transportation regarding unique registration scenarios.
  • Assists families with activation of the SIS system.
  • Assembles, prepares, and maintains the student’s scholastic record, including cume files and transcripts per district guidelines.
  • Prepares student files for summer transfer and reviews all incoming student files.
  • Prepares, classifies, sorts, and files correspondence or other data and prepares appropriate response, if necessary.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, word processing software, database, and spreadsheet software applications, including the student information system database (SIS).
  • Acts as a liaison between the building counselors and the Building Administrator(s).
  • Responds to requests for information made from the public, parents, staff, and or other interested parties.
  • Answers questions within area of authority; directs callers/visitors to appropriate location or staff member.greeting visitors, answering telephone calls in a pleasant and efficient manner, and communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain Medication Administration Certification, CPR Certification, and First Aid Training.
  • May be required to perform District-wide support services in case of emergency situations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
