James Irwin Charter High School is currently seeking a full-time Computer Applications Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This position teaches primarily elective courses and offers a high degree of instructional flexibility and creativity. The successful candidate will serve as the primary computer and technology instructional expert in the building. Courses taught may vary by year based on student enrollment and school needs, but may include Computer Applications, Introduction to Computer Science, Digital Design courses, AP Computer Science A, and/or an additional course such as Algebra to support departmental balance. Candidates must meet at least one of the following in the subject area assigned: Endorsement on a Colorado teaching license; or Bachelor’s degree or higher; or 36 semester credit hours in the subject area; or Passing score on a State Board of Education-approved content exam Position Summary The Computer Applications Teacher is responsible for planning and teaching technology-focused coursework that builds practical skills in computer applications, programming fundamentals, and/or digital design. The teacher independently teaches multiple sections, develops curriculum materials, assesses student growth, maintains regular communication with families, and participates fully in the school community. All teachers at JICHS share additional responsibilities such as proctoring study halls or labs, monitoring detention, and chaperoning school events.
