IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL CASHIER JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: High School Cashier WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt FUNDING SOURCE: Local REPORTS TO: Principal PAY GRADE: Paraprofessional 050 (193 Days) DATE REVISED: May, 2001 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Maintain accurate records of agency and campus accounts; Provide receipts, balances, checks, deposits, etc. to clubs and organizations on a regular basis QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of general office equipment Knowledge of basic accounting principles Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to operate computer using a variety of basic applications Minimum Experience: One (1) year of accounting/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Receive all moneys from teachers for student fees, club dues, fund raisers, etc. and issue receipts for such funds, keep accurate record of funds received and make appropriate deposit slips 2. Make deposits in appropriate fund accounts following district procedures in order to maintain accurate and current records 3. Process Activity Account requests for checks/funds, payment of invoices, or issuance of purchase orders with appropriate authorization and following district procedures; maintain accurate backup files 4. Maintain official records of club sponsors, club officers, club rosters, and all approved fund-raisers 5. Report all donations, whether monetary or non-monetary, to Assistant Superintendent of Support Services following district procedures High School Cashier - 2 6. Manage funds and/or bookkeeping tasks associated with student/teacher parking, vending machines, tickets, change, stamps, and other campus functions/activities 7. Prepare monthly sales tax reports and other reports as required 8. Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed 9.
