Requirements

  • have a bachelor’s degree (required)

  • will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
  • Possess (or will possess by July 2026) a valid California Preliminary or Clear Single Subject credential in Biology, OR
  • Eligible for a California Single Subject Intern credential in Biology (candidate must earn an Intern credential by July 2026), OR
  • Eligible for a Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) or Provisional Internship Permit (PIP), AND have a valid CPR certification that meets the standards established by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
  • Prior to applying, visit the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (https://www.ctc.ca.gov/) to assess teaching eligibility in a California public school as of July 2026
