About The Position

To empower students to embrace a Biblical worldview through spiritual & academic growth, servant leadership, and authentic relationships in the name of Jesus Christ. The High School Assistant Principal partners with the High School Principal to foster a collaborative school culture that supports teacher leadership, academic excellence, and the spiritual development of students and staff. This role prioritizes teamwork, assisting in administrative functions, and strengthening faculty collaboration in alignment with the school’s mission. In addition, the High School Assistant Principal collaborates with the Middle School Principal and High School Guidance department to ensure effective transition of students in meeting their graduation goals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education
  • Maintain a valid Indiana administrator’s license or be eligible for licensure
  • Agree with ECS Articles of Faith, the ECS position statements, and abide by the ECS Code of Christian Conduct, as well as demonstrate support of ECS faculty/staff and policies.
  • Have a heart for children, Christian education, and the ministry of ECS.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 35 pounds (e.g., supplies, boxes of materials).
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic means.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations that may require quick movement across the campus.
  • Ability to travel between school buildings or off-site meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Support Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with Principals and Guidance Departments to implement school-wide initiatives.
  • Spiritual & Professional Development: Assist in planning and providing Biblical integration, discipleship training, and professional learning communities to nurture staff growth.
  • Student Support & Development: Partner with the High School Principal and Youth First Counselor to oversee student discipline, character development, and individualized support with Biblically-based guidance and counseling.
  • Teacher Support & Evaluation: Conduct High School classroom observations as directed by High School Principal, provide constructive feedback, and support teachers in instructional strategies that align with the school's Biblical worldview.
  • Parental & Community Engagement: Collaborate with Principals to foster strong relationships with families and facilitate open communication.
  • Academic Excellence & Data Analysis: Assist in curriculum development, assessment implementation, scheduling, program development, and data analysis to impact classroom instruction and enhance student learning outcomes. Research and support initiatives that develop innovative post-secondary endeavors for students at ECS.
  • Student Guidance: Collaborate with the High School Guidance department, High School Principal, and Middle School Principal to implement systems to ensure student progress in the graduation requirements and meeting state accountability guidelines, including collaboratively meeting with students to provide individual support and guidance.
  • Crisis & Safety Management: Work with Principals to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for students and staff by implementing and upholding school policies and procedures.
  • Perform other school duties as requested by the High School Principal.
