About The Position

The Birth Coordinator at AdventHealth provides essential direct and indirect services in the obstetrical setting, advocating for patients, families, and visitors. This role emphasizes outstanding customer service and compliance with healthcare regulations while supporting the team process and enhancing patient care through individualized plans.

Requirements

• Current valid State of Florida or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• RN with Obstetrics experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect services to various age groups in the obstetrical setting.
• Act as an advocate for patients, families, and visitors.
• Utilize knowledge of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and post-partum care to identify individualized plans of care.
• Evaluate patients' developmental levels and identify their physical/emotional dependency needs.
• Identify the need for patient teaching and utilize opportunities for education.
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities.
• Document and monitor activities accurately as needed.
• Act as a liaison between the obstetrical unit and patients, physician office staff, and families.
• Assist in obtaining needed services and report concerns to team members for resolution.
• Utilize knowledge of AdventHealth programs for expectant mothers and assist with scheduling and resources.
