About The Position

This position is responsible for conducting troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment used for pressure testing of downhole tools. The role requires a strong mechanical background and the ability to diagnose and resolve various mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance checks and document maintenance and test results using basic computer skills.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years technical degree preferred or equivalent experience in related fields.
  • Proficient in using and maintaining common hand tools and power tools, as well as inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Knowledge and experience applying and interpreting pressure test results.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical blueprints, test plans, and diagrams.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of formal training in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with software systems such as Allen Bradley PLC RS Logix, RMC logics, and Keyence Marking Builder.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues including replacement of parts such as pressure pumps, thermocouples, tooling, treating iron, and tubing.
  • Diagnose and resolve hydraulic issues including replacement of control valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, and hydraulic pressure hoses.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic electrical issues including troubleshooting VFD, motors, 4-20mA and 24V sensors, and PLC and RMC controllers.
  • Diagnose and resolve pneumatic issues including troubleshooting control valves, cylinders, vacuum systems, and basic compressor knowledge.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Rig downhole tools and connect high pressure tubing to the tool or fixture for pressure testing.
  • Perform pressure tests using HMI remote control and data acquisition.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer operations for maintenance and test reporting summaries.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, management, and other departments both verbally and electronically.
