About The Position

LCRA is looking for a Transmission High Line Worker to join our team that maintains the crucial infrastructure of Central Texas! This role is based out of our Eastern Maintenance Facility in LaGrange, TX. As a member of our Line Operations team, you will have the opportunity to travel across Central Texas to various work sites (with travel accommodations provided). You will work with a skilled team and receive valuable training through on-the-job experiences as well as set training curriculum. Apply today and be part of our mission to enhance the lives of Central Texans You will be trusted to: - Assist in all aspects of the construction or maintenance and repair of transmission lines (e.g. overhaul and inspection of lines and installing lines). - Assist in operation and maintenance of equipment such as bucket trucks, boom trucks, winch trucks, etc. used in performing aerial work. - Participate in training to gain greater knowledge and experience of procedures, tool use, and equipment operation. - Assist other experienced employees in performing live-line maintenance with hot-sticks on energized transmission lines. - Prepare equipment and material for daily projects. - Respond to emergency situations. - Climb wood and steel transmission structures to extreme heights using proper safety equipment. - Learn and follow all safety, environmental and departmental policies and procedures. - Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, transmission lines, etc.) as scheduled.

Requirements

  • Zero or more years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line construction and/or maintenance work or related field involving work at heights, or relevant experience.
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Class A Texas commercial driver’s license
